President's Message
Julie Boudousquié, March 2004
After eight years living in Bellevue, thanks to Friends of Bellevue, at last,
I am beginning to meet some of my wonderful neighbors. And that is the purpose
of Friends of Bellevue – to bring together residents, worker organizations and
other enthusiastic supporters of historic Bellevue.
As Bellevue continues with its riverfront development and as exciting new
businesses locate on the avenue, we can expect a heightened interest in
Bellevue. Bellevue is a wonderful place to live with its accessibility to
everything while managing to maintain its small town atmosphere. We need to
welcome new faces and invite them to join Friends of Bellevue.
Friends of Bellevue has experienced a very strong beginning, a statement of the
need for such an organization. We have been indeed fortunate to have some
enthusiastic and committed charter members. Our web site is excellent, thanks to
the hard work of our vice president and PR director, Tom Wiethorn. It’s now so
easy to find out what’s happening in Bellevue.
The main point I wish to convey in this message is that for Friends of Bellevue
to have its greatest impact, we, as a community must stay involved. We need to
prioritize our involvement with Friends of Bellevue activities and projects and
we will, together, indeed improve the quality of life in our community.
