Bellevue Spotlight is on ...
the
Bellevue Beadery
This month the Bellevue Spotlight shines on one of the more exciting and fun new
businesses that have come to call Bellevue home, The Bellevue Beadery.
On September 2, 2003 two very creative sisters, Cathy Brookbank and Joanna
Maehren put their heads together and started one of the most enjoyable new
businesses that can be found along “The Avenue”. The Bellevue Beadery is more
than a craft shop. Under the direction of Cathy and Joanna they have made it
into Northern Kentucky’s premier place to execute fine examples of beaded
jewelry. Here at 341 Fairfield Ave. local teenagers can make bracelets for $2.00
while sitting next to sophisticated women designing one for hundreds of dollars.
The Bellevue Beadery carries a large selection of beads from all over the world
guaranteed to meet your expectations.
To make sure that your experience to Bellevue Beadery is an enjoyable one the
ladies offer a wide variety of classes and instructional assistance. Here one
can learn the intricacy of earring making or the beauty of wire wrapping for
jewelry. In addition to the weekly Wednesday evening classes, the Bellevue
Beadery also offers private classes for groups of four to ten. All the basic
classes are free; you pay only for what you make.
In the future the Beadery hopes to open a new art glass studio in the rear of
the location where they will offer instruction on lamp work bead making,
enameling and possibly clay/pmc classes.
So as our thoughts turn towards the upcoming holiday season, keep the Bellevue
Beadery in mind for those very special one of a kind gifts that make the season
so memorable.
