On Sunday evening March 15, 2009, close to 200 fellow Friends of Bellevue, business owners, elected officials and guests, gathered to celebrate the 139th anniversary of the City of Bellevue's incorporation by supporting this year's Bellevue Birthday Bash & Award Dinner.
This year the Friends were honored with the presence of Kentucky's Lt. Governor Daniel Mongiardo as the Birthday Bash speaker. Lt. Governor Mongiardo emphasized in his remarks how educational opportunities are important in addressing our state's focus on health care. Joining the Lt. Governor Governor was local educator Dr. Elissa Plattner who thanked the Friends for their continued support of college students as they work toward a college degree.
The Friends were pleased to present this year's recipient of the Bellevue Award to Ms. Ginny Brinker. In addition, Friends of Bellevue announced the four outstanding high school seniors receiving scholarships from this year's Birthday Bash & Award Dinner fund raising efforts.
Over $4500.00 was raised through this event to assist the FOB scholarship fund and to help purchase new technology for our local elementary schools.
The following are pictures of the fun had by this year's attendees.
